The Aslian Branch |
Aslian languages are spoken almost exclusively in Malaysia, but are also found in southern Thailand. |
Generally divided into Northern, Central, and Southern subgroups, the Aslian languages are critically endangered. The Malaysian Department of Orang Asli Affairs (JHEOA) estimated the total number of Che' Wong, Kensiw, Kintak, Mendriq, and Lanoh speakers at fewer than one thousand (JHEOA 2003). |
