Essays in Tai Linguistics
Essays in Tai Linguistics is the first book in
the Chulalongkorn University Press Thai Studies Series.
The University is determined to propagate work in depth
on topics in Thai studies, in order to foster widespread
knowledge of Thai culture and history.
Essays in Tai Linguistics had its origin in the
panel on "The Tai Languages in the Twentieth Century"
held at the International Conference on Thai Studies
held at SOAS, University of London, July 1993.
Papers are collected in five categories:
Phonetics and Phonology, Poetics, Syntax and Semantics,
Historical and Comparative Linguistics, and a residual
category of Varia.
